Tuscany and Riviera Tour 2025

Summary Tour Itinerary

*subject to change

DAY 1 - Rome
Thursday 15th May 2025

Today starts with airport pickups at 10am at Rome Fiumicino Airport. From there we have a short drive south toward the coast line where we are settling in for the night.

Our hotel is on the coast itself, so on arrival we’ll set up the bikes, grab some lunch and do a nice coastal roll to open the legs up. After a roll we can freshen up, catch up on where the Giro is at & head out for the first of many amazing meals.

Accommodation: Astura Palace Hotel, Nettuno

DAY 2 - Pescara
Friday 16th May 2025

We’ll enjoy the breakfast and views from the hotel before heading inland to catch up with the Giro riding part of the stage and seeing the pro’s tackle the hilltop finish.

You will see how thin Italy actually is, we will end up on the other side of Italy on the coastline tonight in a town that in the middle of summer is full of tourists from northern parts of Europe.

Surely more seafood is on the menu…..

Accommodation: Hotel Promenade, Pescara

DAY 3 - Castelraimondo
Saturday 17th May 2025

Saturday 18th May 2025

Today we will start heading north and catch up with the Giro in the middle section of the race, it’s a lumpy stage today. We will grab some lunch and head to our accommodation.

We’ll then head to our accommodation, enjoy a spritzer and get ready for some sensational food at the restaurant.

Accommodation: Borgia Lanciano, Castelraimondo

DAY 4 - San Gimignano
Sunday 18th May 2025

We bid farewell to the Castle and head towards Toscana. We will ride towards todays stage, get on course and ride parts of this lumpy stage. We can grab a bite to eat and it will be time to see the Giro on course coming through on this hard gravel stage

Then it’ll be time to head to one of our favourite sports nestled in the Tuscan hills. Once freshened up, it’s time to explore this amazing town before another nice dinner in a different region once again.

Accommodation: La Cisterna San Gimigiano

DAY 5 - San Gimignano
Monday 19th May 2025

It’s a rest day in the Giro but not for us.  Although not one of the hardest days of the week, it could be arguably the most beautiful. We will roll around the Tuscan hills, not many flat roads in this area.

We can spend the afternoon checking out the area and surrounds. San Gimignano is another favourite Gruppetto destination. A perfect town in an incredible location. Expect a big afternoon taking it in with a Negroni, a Spritzer or both before rambling to a favourite restaurant.

Accommodation: La Cisterna San Gimigiano

DAY 6 - Lucca
Tuesday 20th May 2025

It’s TT day….

A ride to and around the TT circuit in another fantastic area, we will settle in for the afternoon on course to watch the pro’s light up the circuit on their TT rigs.

This will be a great afternoon of action before heading to a new spot for the Gruppetto team. We’ll have time to walk the streets and time to enjoy a spritzer and get ready for some more sensational food.

Accommodation: Hotel Rex, Lucca

DAY 7 - Santa Margherita
Wednesday 21st May 2025

This morning we will head back to the coastline, this time to check out the Giro stage start. This is always a great opportunity to see the riders and buses up close. Then it’s a roll up the coast towards our accommodation. Maybe a quick stop in at one of the 5 Chinque Terra’s.

Then it’s off to our accommodation, maybe a walk around these great streets before our last dinner together? I’m sure there will be many stories shed over a vino or two.

Accommodation: Laurin Hotel, Santa Margherita

DAY 8 - Farewells
Thursday 22nd May 2025

Our final morning on tour, and following breakfast, we’ll head to Milan Malpensa airport for 10am drop off. If you’re staying on in Italy you can pick up your car or catch transport from there, or check in and board your flight home.

Either way it’s good memories, and goodbye, for now.
