Summary Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - Pozzuoli
Thursday 11th May 2023

Today starts with airport pickups at 9am at Fiumicino Airport in Rome. From there we have a pretty solid drive south toward Naples, but the vans are comfy and we’ll stop on the way for a panini and a café.

Our hotel is on the coast itself, so on arrival we’ll set up the bikes & head out on a short ride to see the stage finish. After a roll we can freshen up & head out for the first of many amazing meals, this one over-looking the beautiful coastline.

DAY 2 - Santo Stefano di Sessanio
Friday 12th May 2023

This will be a great day! We’ll enjoy the breakfast and views from the hotel, before we jump in the vans & head toward the Giro course & ride the last 70km of Stage 7 before the pro’s come through.

We’ll then head to our incredible accommodation to watch the stage finish & no doubt another sensational dinner.

DAY 3 - Perugia
Saturday 13th May 2023

Today we’ll drive east toward the stage where we will start our ride for the day. Heading towards Terni, todays ride features an 60-70 km ride on the Stage * Course before heading toward one of Gruppetto's favourite spots - Castello di Monterone in Perugia. A genuine, restored castle, this place is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure you take a bit of time to check out this amazing castle, enjoy a spritzer and get ready for some sensational food at their award winning restaurant.

DAY 4 - Rimini
Sunday 14th May 2023

Today we’ll journey toward the coast for TT Day. Always a favourite!

We’ll start with a coastal ride that will be pancake flat with stunning views but still quite a challenge at 80 - 100km in length. We will also enjoy a nice lunch break somewhere along the route.

Once freshened up, we’ll walk from our beachside accommodation straight to the TT Course for a relaxing afternoon cheering on the Aussies!

DAY 5 - Fiorano Modenese
Monday 15th May 2023

It’s a rest day in the Giro but not for us.

Today we head toward Modena. Along the route near Faenza, we will unload the bikes & ride the rolling Tuscan Hills towards our accommodation A few km from the center of Modena and Maranello, a few steps from the famous Autodromo, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the culture, landscape and rich Emilian traditions.

After our 60-70km ride, time to freshen up & explore the town.

DAY 6 - Santa Margherita
Tuesday 16th May 2023

This morning we’ll find the Stage 10 Course & turn onto the coast road for a 50- 60km roll

Then jump in the vans to head toward the amazing Ligure region.

Santa Margherita is another favourite Gruppetto destination. A perfect coastal town in an incredible location. Expect a big afternoon taking it in with a Negroni, a Spritzer or both before rambling to our favourite seafood restaurant.

DAY 7 - Cossato
Wednesday 17th May 2023

Waking up to the sounds of the fishermen bringing back their catch, grab some breakfast & saddle up to ride part of Stage 11. A 50-60km ride with stunning views of this incredible region before heading back to Mamma’s to be welcomed with open arms

Cossato is our home away from home. We cant wait to see Mamma Rita & her extended family.

DAY 8 - Farewells
Thursday 18th May 2023

Our final morning on tour, and following breakfast, we’ll head to Milan Malpensa airport for 11am drop offs. If you’re staying on in Italy you can pick up your car or catch transport from there, or check in and board your flight home. Either way it’s good memories, and goodbye, for now.
